Carol Williams Blog
Our classmate Carol Williams wrote about how she "is not a big fan of blogging" and I felt the same way up until recently. I was annoyed with people who talked about blogging, celebrities that wrote a bunch of nonsense that we shouldn't even care about, and even the word "BLOG". But, now I do see that it is kind of amazing we are all able to speak our minds in such a global way...let alone in our communities. Also, I hate when I get a phone call from a friend or family member and they say, "I have been trying to call you all day!" Sometimes, aren't we aloud to turn the phone off, or screen our calls, like the "old days". Why is it necessary to be completely in-touch 24-7. I want to be left alone sometimes. But, again, I can't imagine life without cell phones, email, or INTERNET! And, I have been that person yelling at my family, "Why didn't you answer my calls!" So, I guess we just have to get used to it because to me, it is worth all the trouble it causes to be so connected.

What is WITH the celebrity blogs???
Against my better judgment, this morning, I clicked on Lindsey Lohan's blog...what a train wreck!
I didn't realize people actually followed celebrity blogs until I read the posts in from the WVW class, lol.
Although I use my phone constantly, I usually have everybody text message me. I am horrible at returning voicemails, but I'll return texts immediately.
I do this because I am way too busy to talk on the phone. Texting is fast, and I can get a message to someone immediately in very little time. If they respond, I can choose to ignore it, respond immediately, or respond later. Texting just works better with my schedule than do lengthy phone calls.
Dana, you're right about the instant connection thing. Even though I find it annoying to be constantly connected to people all the time, when I flip open my cellphone to call someone, I really get frustrated if I can't reach them!! They're probably doing the same thing I do, unplugging when it gets to be too much.
LOL. I felt the same way about blogs but am slowly starting to convert. I find myself reading blogs now - and yes, even celebrity blogs (why, oh why must I?).
I do hate when someone says that they kept trying to call me all day - and act as if something is wrong with me because I didn't answer. My own mother even told me once that maybe I needed professional help because I didn't answer her calls that day! It didn't matter that I was swapped with work and just didn't want to talk to her (no offense!). But she took it upon herself to call the entire family and tell them, so then I had to deal with dozens of calls, emails, and text messages -- oh, I should have just answered her call!
